The poem had an almost shamanistic feel, invoking smoke, nature, and animal spirits. At the same time, it feels very classic, almost Shakespearean due to the structure. The word choice is excellent and the rhyme scheme is consistent throughout. The repetition of lines after each stanza also works well. Definitely an interesting read that leaves me intrigued and wanting to Google the symbolism of salamanders. CZ
