Trigger warning- Content related to suicide/self-harm, slightly graphic images of self-harm. This piece goes into a detailed discussion of the uncomfortable topic of self-harm. Drawing attention to “non-suicidal self-harm” the author authentically details her own experience with depression, anxiety, and the resulting self-harm. While it can be a bit uncomfortable to read about the narrator inflicting injury to herself, it is also a well written, eye-opening look into what drives this type of behavior. The writer also intersperses some wit and humor into the piece, which lightens the mood. CZ
